Zero-downtime migration to two new data centres
Martin Brodie-Lynch, Verifone (internal programme)
The challenge
An internal programme to move to two new data centres, removing single points of failure and strengthening continuity in an outage. The constraint was non-negotiable: no downtime and no impact on customers.
What I did
I led the migration and helped plan it in carefully sequenced phases, with detailed cutover planning, risk mitigation and failover testing at every stage, so any issue was caught before it reached production. Cutover activity was scheduled and coordinated to stay invisible to customers.
The result
Completed with no downtime and no customer impact, leaving the business running across two resilient data centres.
